EXPLOSIVE MCU PHASE 5 THEORY: AVENGERS’ UNLEASHED RESPONSE TO MARVEL’S NEW SUPERVILLAIN EXPLAINED

After an unexpected demise in episode three of Secret Invasion, a theory emerges suggesting the eventual return of the character in a more formidable incarnation.

One possible explanation for why the Avengers seem to be ignoring the threat posed by Gravik to Earth could be connected to a theory regarding the fate of G’iah’s Secret Invasion. In the Secret Invasion storyline, a renegade group of Skrulls seeks to infiltrate Earth and make it their new home. Gravik, who is dissatisfied with Talos’ leadership and Fury’s absence, takes matters into his own hands. He poses a threat to humanity, aiming to eliminate them and claim Earth as the Skrulls’ new planet. Interestingly, the Avengers, who are known as Earth’s defenders, don’t seem to be aware of the Skrull attacks.

Secret Invasion involved G’iah, Talos’ daughter, who lost faith in her father’s search for a new home. Joining the Skrull Resistance, she assisted Gravik in his mission but acted as a double agent with her father against the rebels. Gravik discovered her betrayal, seemingly ending her life in Secret Invasion’s third episode. Despite a plausible in-universe explanation for Nick Fury’s lack of involvement, the Avengers have perplexingly overlooked Gravik’s threat. However, a theory regarding G’iah’s future in the MCU could provide a justified reason for the Avengers’ absence from this conflict.

MARVEL REVEALED G’IAH ISN’T DEAD IN SECRET INVASION

In the MCU, characters have shown that death is not always permanent, and the same could be true for G’iah. Considering the recent major death in the show, it seems unlikely for G’iah to meet a permanent end so soon after. Additionally, Marvel has already released clips from Secret Invasion’s trailer featuring Emilia Clarke as G’iah, which have not yet been seen in the show.

Marvel has been known to include footage in trailers that doesn’t make it into the final project. However, in the case of G’iah’s clips, they appear to be significant to the character’s storyline. The trailer shows G’iah investigating a potential Skrull base, suggesting a pivotal plot point that Marvel may not simply fabricate. While the clips could potentially be flashbacks, it seems more plausible that they hint at a larger story arc for G’iah, even after her presumed demise.

SPECULATION: G’IAH ASSUMES THE ROLE OF THE MCU’S SECOND SUPER-SKRULL

In Secret Invasion episode 3, Gravik introduced the MCU’s version of Marvel’s Super-Skrulls. While the full extent of their abilities remains to be explored, the Super-Skrulls are expected to be an amplified version of the already formidable Skrull race. In episode 2, G’iah discovered the Super-Skrull laboratory, prompting her to investigate the collected DNA, which included powerful beings like Groot, Frost Beast, and Cull Obsidian. Gravik is the first Super-Skrull, but it’s plausible that G’iah might already be the second.

In the unaired footage of G’iah from the Secret Invasion trailer, there is a scene showing her acquiring the Super-Skrull powers through a machine. This implies that she might have managed to infiltrate the facility at some point between her investigation of the lab and her involvement in thwarting the missile attack. Assuming she became a Super-Skrull, her apparent death at the hands of Gravik could have been a strategic move to divert his attention. It would explain her seemingly reckless behavior before her demise. G’iah might have been aware that she would regenerate from the wound, allowing her to assist Fury and her father while Gravik was occupied elsewhere.

THEORY: G’IAH AS A SUPER-SKRULL RESOLVES THE AVENGERS’ ABSENCE

The Skrulls already pose a formidable threat with their shape-shifting abilities, and the concept of Super-Skrulls enhances their power even further. In Secret Invasion, Samuel L. Jackson’s Fury expressed caution about involving the Avengers, as their powers could be stolen by the Skrull rebels. Gravik’s army of Super-Skrull soldiers will undoubtedly present a challenging battle for Fury alone. However, if the theory about G’iah becoming a Super-Skrull holds true, having her on Fury and Talos’ side would increase the likelihood of victory without necessarily requiring the intervention of the Avengers. It would make the outcome seem more realistic and feasible.

Having witnessed one shocking death already, the demise of G’iah at the end of Secret Invasion episode three came as another surprise. However, Marvel appears to have inadvertently revealed her fate through unseen clips in the show’s trailer. It is logical to expect G’iah’s return as a Super-Skrull, granting her the freedom to break away from Gravik’s influence. The Avengers’ disregard for Gravik’s threat has presented a challenging path for Fury and Talos. Nevertheless, the addition of a Super-Skrull G’iah on their side suddenly makes their Secret Invasion battle more feasible.
